The Cebu Michelin Guide 2027 recognises 16 MICHELIN Selected restaurants and 7 Bib Gourmand establishments, according to SunStar's report on the ceremony held on Thursday, Oct. 29, 2026. It is the second edition of the MICHELIN Guide Manila and Environs & Cebu, and several Cebu names are new this year. Here is what was announced and what it means if you are planning a meal in the city.
What was announced
The 2027 selection was revealed at a ceremony at the Manila Marriott Hotel, Newport World Resorts. MICHELIN's own release says the selection covers 127 establishments across the regions: one Two-Star restaurant, nine One-Star restaurants, 31 Bib Gourmand and 86 MICHELIN Selected. The star counts are regional totals. SunStar's report does not name any Cebu restaurant with a star.
For Cebu specifically, SunStar counted 16 Selected restaurants and 7 Bib Gourmand entries. By comparison, last year's inaugural guide recognised 18 Cebu restaurants in total, according to earlier coverage of the first edition.
Cebu Bib Gourmand picks
Bib Gourmand is MICHELIN's label for good-value cooking. Interaksyon's Bib Gourmand list names three Cebu entries that are new or promoted this year, and SunStar's report matches them:
- Tatang's Lechon (Wilson St., Apas, Lahug, Cebu City): new
- Kalipay! (R. Duterte St., Banawa, Cebu City): new
- Ato-Ah (Park Ave., Cebu City): promoted from the Selected category
SunStar lists four returning Bib Gourmand picks: Esmen in Pasil, The Pig & Palm at Cebu Business Park, Abaseria Deli & Cafe in Kasambagan, and Lasa near Roosevelt Drive in Busay.
Cebu MICHELIN Selected list
SunStar reports six new Selected additions in Cebu: Kumedor (Lapu-Lapu City), Oyster Bay (Mandaue City), Kokeek's Manokan (Cebu City), Playa, Cyria's Kandingan (Consolacion) and Marjo's Pochero (Cebu City).
Ten restaurants return from last year: Abli, Coco, Dip, Enye by Chele González, Lantaw (Compostela), Kamakura, House of Lechon, Maya, Socarrat and Sialo. They are spread across Cebu City, Mandaue, Lapu-Lapu City on Mactan and Compostela, so a food trip can easily be built around where you are staying.
Why it matters for Cebu visitors
A Michelin mention tends to bring more diners, so popular names may be busier in the coming weeks. Several of the new entries are in everyday Filipino categories, including lechon, manokan (chicken dishes) and pochero (a meat-and-vegetable stew), which fits MICHELIN's note that Filipino cuisine makes up nearly 60% of newly selected establishments across the guide.
