National transporter EgyptAir said on Thursday a flight from Paris to Cairo had vanished from radar before entering Egyptian airspace.

“An official source at EGYPTAIR expressed that Flight no MS804, which withdrew Paris at 23:09 (CEST), going to Cairo has vanished from radar,” the carrier said on its Twitter account.

CNN said the plane was conveying 59 travelers and 10 group. A later Tweet by EgyptAir said the plane, which was going at a height of 37,000 feet (11,280 meters), vanished around 80 miles (130 km) before it was because of enter Egyptian airspace.

As indicated by flightradar24.com, the plane was an Airbus A320 and its last known position was over the Mediterranean Sea.
