I’ve decided to make my own list of top ten sights in Cebu since I’m planning to visit again these places. My top 1 list is the Magellan’s cross because this is the distinct landmark of the Queen City of the South, and since this was the first thing that came to my mind when I first arrived in 2007. Here is my list of the top ten attractions in Cebu:
The Top Ten Cebu Attractions
- The Magellan’s Cross

This is the site where Ferdinand Magellan erected a cross when he first arrived the island. What you can see at present is a wooden cross encasement, where inside is the original cross. This is to preserve and prevent the cross from decaying. But the site is still the same.

You will finally see how devoted and faithful the Cebuanos are when visiting this church. This is the church where the ever-glorified Sto Nino statue can be found.
- Chinese Taoist Temple
This is the biggest and one among the Chinese temples in Cebu.
This is the old barracks of the Spaniards in 18th century.
This is one of the most visited resorts in the Philippines. You can also see views here that cannot be seen in Boracay apart from the powdery white sand beach.
- Lapu-Lapu Shrine
The memorial shrine of the great Lapulapu, King of Mactan.
A high mountainous terrain. Tops is an ideal place if you want to dine with your partner in a much more tranquil and relaxing place. You can watch here the whole overlooking view of the city. I remember Jack’s Ridge in Davao when I come to this place.
- Plaza Independencia
Previously called Plaza Libertad, this was made and occupied by the Spaniards in the 18th Century. An area today popular for picnic enthusiasts.
- Cebu Museum
This is the main art museum of Cebu City, apart from Casa Gorordo.
- Crown Regency and Hotel Twin Towers

The Tower I which is the Club Ultima stood 23-storey in height with 22,000 square meters lot area. The tower II stood 38-storey and 36,000 square meters.
