Home / Religion / PETITION to ask for resignation of Bishop Villegas as CBCP President on progress. A MUST READ!

bishop villegas and oascar cruz resign

Right around 8,928 applicants have officially marked the appeal as of composing, requesting the acquiescence of the CBCP President Bishops Socrates B. Villegas. 1,075 needed more to reach the required 10,000 signatures for this petition to elevate this call.

The petition was made by Pablo Tecson who charged Catholic Bishops for “meddling in the legislative issues in the nation when we have a law that separates the state from the church”.

This petition is made through change.org. Click here if you want to sign the petition.

Here is the petition:

Bishops Socrates B. Villegas and Oscar V. Cruz are bishops in the Roman Catholic Church in the Philippines. Their actions do not speak for of all bishops, priests, religious orders, nuns and the Roman Catholic population in the country . The Catholic Church has been a victim of the actions of this two bishops and the Catholic faithful have been affected by the dirty mouths of this two bishops.

The actions of Bishops Cruz and Villegas have created a division between the Catholic faithful and the Filipino people. Catholics cannot tolerate the actions of this two bishops. Why do they keep interfering in the politics in the country when we have a separation of the state and church?

We all know the story of Bishop Villegas, an ambitious side kick of Cardinal Sin where his political color is yellow, dreaming to be a Cardinal . And Bishop Cruz who has not shut his mouth since the Erap govt., the Arroyo govt., and now with the Duterte govt., but he was silent in the days of the Aquino govt. We, the Filipino people, are calling for action by the Apostolic Nuncio to the Philippines Archbishop Giuseppe Pinto and Cardinal Luis Tagle to take action against them and to correct the behavior of these two bishops.

We pray that this petition will reach the Vatican and Pope Francis and we pray, that with the grace of God, this petition will become an eye opener to all religious people in the country to show their limitations. Leave politics to the politicians and let the people decide without your directions.

1. We seek the removal of the title “Bishop Emeritus” of retired Bishop Cruz.

2. Resignation of Bishop Villegas in his Archdiocese of Lingayen-Dagupan.

3. The resignation of Bishop Villegas as Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) President.

They don’t deserve to be called a Bishop or shepherds or vicar of Christ in there diocese when their action doesn’t represent the teaching of the church.

The saintly Pope Paul VI’s words come to mind, “The smoke of Satan has entered the Church”. Christ, His teaching, and His church are, nevertheless, victorious, and deviousness such as perpetrated by these present day Judas will fall just as he did. We are the Roman Catholic faithful and we are protecting our mother church against a present Judas that is hiding in the church. CBCP is not representing the voices of Filipino Catholics; the voices of Villegas and Cruz don’t represent the voices of all Catholics This country needs a healing and reconciliation because these two bishops are sadly creating wounds in this country.

The Filipino people and the Catholic population in the country elected President Elect Rody Duterte. We need to support him in the changes he wants for our country.

We are Catholic and we vote for a sinner who genuinely serves the poor than for hypocrites who neglect them.

Vox Populi, Vox Dei

Begin the healing by resigning.

Anybody can be wrong, sometimes our actuation do not reflect our natural self, rather by the pressures of that time. As in moments of rage. Forgive them.

If we want change, we should get together to do that. We’ve been tolerating these acts for a long, long time now. How can we ever forgive somebody who never even ask for it? Because of hypocrisy and ego, they cannot stand saying simple word “forgive”, they are too big to do that. Arrogant, aren’t they? Time to pull our pants up, i would say.

  11. dapat magresign na. Kaya pala kahit anong simba ko parang hindi ko kilala si Villegas noon pa man pag kahirang niyang naging presidente,,,,malayo siya..hindi ko abot parang iba ang landas….

  12. we want a separation of the church and the state but we also interfere with the church by dictating what we want the church to do. Just report what they have done and let their superiors do what ever is due them.
