Senator Richard Gordon on Monday said he will no longer dispatch another inquiry into the crisp charges of resigned SPO3 Arthur Lascañas on the Davao Death Squad (DDS).
Gordon, who seats the Senate council on Justice and Human Rights, said he would no longer waste the Senate’s chance probing Lascañas after the last flip-tumbled on his cases on the DDS.
In an ANC interview over the phone Gordon said:
“He has already appeared before the Senate and he said the Davao [Death] Squad did not exist, and therefore why should I call the committee again? How would I know if he is telling the truth this time? How do I know if he’s lying again? So as far as I’m concerned we should really take a look the fact that do they have the case against the president?….. But we’re not going to go back to the senate and say he’s going to be investigated just because he’s already said something and now saying something different.
“We are not gonna go back to the Senate and say ‘we are gonna investigate again’ just because he has said something and now he is saying another something.”
“Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me.”
In a CNN interview Gordon said: “Mahirap paniwalaan si Arturo Lascañas.”
