Appointed by President Rodrigo Duterte, former Congressman and broadcaster Teodoro “Teddy Boy” Locsin Jr. is now the new Philippine Ambassador to the United Nations .

Presidential Communications Secretary confirmed the appointment of Martin Andanar by President Duterte.

According to Andanar, Locsin accepted the offer by the President.

Locsin was a known journalist before he embarked into the world of politics.

He served as representative of the 1st district of Makati in the House from 2001 to 2010.

Locsin was also known as one of active Twitter users in the Philippines , and there are times he is being criticized because of his strong comments.
