The National Prosecution Service (NPS) has acquitted drug lord Peter Lim and Kerwin Espinosa in connection with this drug case in the Department of Justice.
This is related to the violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act or Republic Act 9165 filed by PNP-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group for illegal drug trade in the Visayas Region.
In a 41-page resolution signed by Acting Prosecutor General Jorge Catalan, the DOJ also dismissed the case against other respondents, including Peter Co, Marcelo Adorco, Max Miro and Lovely Impal.
Such resolution will be subject to automatic review by Department of Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre.
The case is based on the testimonies witnessed by Marcelo Adorco, former Espinosa personnel who Lim and Co are supplying drug suppliers of the Espinosa Drug Group.
However, according to the NPS, besides Adorco’s information is not compatible, they also consider self-serving its testimonies as no PNP-CIDg corroborating statement is being filed.
