Home / Hotels / Insular Hotel at the Waterfront

I remember in my adolescence I used to play soccer here at their huge bermuda lawn. We frequently ate our dinner here with my family, sleep some nights, and even just hang out and spend quality time every Sunday.

I still remember the light posts gleaming from the seashore, wherein from there you can get to Samal and Talikud Island by ferry boat. I remember this is where we go to get to Paradise Island through a ferry we used to call bapor. I remember their Smorgasbord, their Chili Con Carne and Banana Split.

It was called Insular Hotel then. Now it is called Waterfront Insular Hotels and Casino.

This hotel was built in the 1960’s and then transferred ownership to Waterfront Group Philippines.

This hotel must have lots of memories for Dabawenyos. This is one of the pioneers in Davao’s hotel and accommodation industry. One of the first class hotels back in the 80’s and 90’s and until now.

Now it received more good reviews from different travelers and tourists around the world. TripAdvisor rated this hotel 8th out of 37 hotels in Davao City. Out of 100%, 36% rated it excellent, 67% for very good, 43% says average, 9 for poor and 6 for terrible.
