In a latest interview with Cebu Mayor TOmas Osmeña , he said that on 2017, he will get rid of the Sinulog sa Kabataan competitions, including the fireworks display during the festival. He also said that there will be no more City Government’s Charter Day celebration.

He said he is firm with his decision, taking note of that government funded schools raise cash and spend a normal of P1.5 million to join the Sinulog sa Kabataan, a yearly rivalry that is held before the Sinulog amazing parade.

“I will not reconsider my decision. No more motion for reconsideration,” Osmeña said.
