Magdaleo drops and drags the name of celebrities who are linked to the concert in New Bilibid Prison during Senator Leila De Lima’s stint as Justice Secretary.

Ryan Magdaleo, cop turned inmate spoke up about the performers invited in New Bilibid Prison to entertain prisoners during De Lima’s term as Justicr Secretary. According to Magdaleo, performers were invited to perform including Freddie Aguilar, Mocha Girls, Ethel Booba and Megastar Sharon Cuneta.

This is in response with the senate hearing of De Lima’s alleged involvement in illegal drugs inside the New Bilid Prison. Magdaleo was the second witness after Colangco’s testimony before the House Commiteeon Justice.

He also added and claimed that these drug lords and inmates at the maximum security enjoyed various perks and privileges which was allegedly due to De Lima and Bureau of Corrections’ lax supervision on the maximum security inmates.

As a response, Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinanc cleared the name of Sharon Cuneta and explained, ” “On July 10, 2012, Sharon went to the New Bilibid Prison for the taping of her talk show, ‘Kasama Mo Kapatid,’ which had an episode featuring the life of inmates. She sang four songs for the closing portion, which is the customary format of the show. She sang ‘Maging Sino Ka Man,’ ‘Tubig at Langis,’ ‘Kahit Konting Pagtingin,’ and ‘Kahit Maputi Na ang Buhok Ko’ but only to support RockEd’s outreach program for prisoners.”

Earlier, RockEd Philippines founder Gang Badoy confirmed Cuneta’s performance. She also added that her volunteer group has been organizing concerts at the correctional facility since 2007.

    I have always thought that being in jail will prevent you from enjoying perks that comes with freedom. You are put in jail to suffer the consequences of committing a crime. I don’t know about you but providing entertainment, like these concerts/shows, inside prisons is puzzling to me.
