Aguirre said this after the NPS decided to disperse drug cases against self-confessed drug lord Kerwin Espinosa, Peter Lim and 20 others.
According to the secretary, state prosecutors do not obey his order because of the NPS and he has only “appellate jurisdiction.”
Furthermore, the NPS has an autonomy and can freely decide even if the Justice Secretary’s office is not approved.
Sec. Agurre that he has not yet read the resolution alleging the case of Espinosa.
However, the secretary has ordered the formation of the board to review the resolution and he has also investigated public prosecutor’s decision-making.
